Dr Reuben Abati:
“I think I have a document here, it says the role of the Ogwa-Olusan of Warri is to put a spell on anyone who is against the Olu or against the progress of Iwere Land for no just cause.
Well we are in 2021, I don't know whether you know the Ogwa-Olusan of Warri still puts a spell on people, but yesterday I was interested in any effort at reconciliation.
Will there be any effort at reconciliation to ensure that August 21 coronation ceremonies go ahead as planned?”
Chief Brown Mene:
“By the grace of God, the coronation of Omoba Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko as the 21st Olu of Warri on the 21st of August 2021 will happen. It will be done and all the world will watch with pageantry, with rejoicing as we find amongst our people now. I do not put a spell on anyone, I don't do so. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and a total Itsekiri person. I pray for people who are misled that they will see the light and step away from darkness. We are waiting on this side of light to receive as many as will cross over.
As a matter of fact, there are several who are already doing so. The door is therefore wide open to receive whoever is penitent and is prepared, not to be a spoiler, a confuser, a dust raiser, a rebel rouser, but one who will be willing to join to construct and build the nation. That's what we stand for and that's where we're going, and by God's grace, we will get there.”
