Belgium boss, Roberto Martinez has labelled Romelu Lukaku as the ‘perfect’ player for Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.
He also waved aside suggestions that Chelsea are paying too much for the Inter Milan ace.
The Belgium striker is already in London to complete his transfer to the Champions League holders for a fee believed to be around £97million.
“The valuation in the market is completely gone. It’s now about how much you are prepared to pay in the market to bring a player to a club,” Martinez told talkSPORT.
“Chelsea is a club that is very close to his heart – he made his first move from Belgium there at a very young age.
“I think his way of looking at it is that he wants to win titles.
Martinez insisted that what matters was not the amount of money Chelsea are spending to bring back the Belgian forward but what he can offer to the club.
He reminded critics that Lukaku already has nearly 100 caps with his national team and is the all time goal-scorer for Belgium.
“After Chelsea won the Champions League, he is the perfect player to bring the squad forward and make them better,”
He stated.
